Luck is going to be a bust this year. Did you watch any Colt's game last year? I don't think you have cause you would know how bad that team really is. He has no help other than an old WR and a rookie TE and we both know how rookie ball catchers pan out their first yearsnot to pick on you here Foot, but didnt you argue in your MIA post that Thill will do great BECAUSE his undrafted WR from A&M is coming with him to Miami, where as you use the exact same arguement as to why Luck will be a bust? (rookie pass catcher; from same school)

oh yeah, and Luck and RGIII are already their team's starters, T-hill will still compete with Moore to start week 1, regardless of being a first rounder, Moore could still be the wk1 guy.

Gettis and LaFell are both in about the same category - Gettis beat out LaFell for the WR2 spot in 2010, and is very fast, and never got to play last year after tearing his ACL. After Steve Smith it just seems a little crowded to me. I figure about 700 yds and 4 TDs for LaFell - just a catch or two per game off from your prediction, but enough of a difference to leave him on the WW bubble. I only mention Jared Green because the discrepancy between his talent and his opportuities so far leave room for him to be much better than his undrafted status might indicate.

On Tannehill starting Week 1:
In the past 20 years, several QBs have started Week 1 as a rookie, but most of them were taken #1 overall (or #2 behind another QB). Here are the other Week 1 rookie QB starters, and who they beat out for the job: Kyle Boller - Chris Redman and Anthony Wright Joe Flacco - nobody (Kyle Boller was injured and Troy Smith was sick) Mark Sanchez - Kellen Clemens Andy Dalton - Gradkowski (Carson Palmer sat out) That's not just a small list, but weak competition to beat out. Matt Moore may not be a great starting QB, but he's a legit starting QB, especially compared to those other names. The Dolphins have the luxury of building up Tannehill's confidence and experience by letting him sit and finding spots to put him in during the first few games. They could throw him to the wolves Week 1, but I think would be pointlessly counter-productive, and the Dolphins seem to be following a plan. My guess is that, barring injury to Moore, he starts somewhere from Week 4 at Arizona to Week 6 at home against the Rams (after which they'll have a bye to review and adjust). |

Another guy to watch out for and the major reason miami didn't draft a wr high this year is Clyde Gates. He is one to watch out for and should be a nice sleeper this year. He runs like the wind and has been clocked at sub 4.35 40 speeds.Foot, you seem to be hung up on speed and/or size. Have you met Johnny Knox? Fast "like the wind." Terrible receiver. Have you met Steve Smith. Too short to play WR in the NFL. Apparently no one told the flag-football, vomit king this yet? RB- Murray is a stud. He's been as long as I've watched him going back to his freshman year at OU. Will put up huge numbers if he stays healthy. But that's another thing I've seen since he was at OU. He can't stay healthy. Draft him knowing you're going to have to get a good backup because he will not play the whole season.Appreciate that insight, Scape. Nice. QB - Joe Flacco is what he is and will continue to be a mid-level QB. Nothing overall special, just a guy who will put up average stats and do the best he can with the team and system in-place.Lefty, I actually think Flacco does NOT have to pass much because of the Ravens D, and Ray Rice. Let's face it, they still get 11 and 12 win seasons with this method. Until Ray Rice is less effective, or the D starts to blow leads, not much is expected from Flacco or the wideouts. Not that I'm in Foot's corner, but if the Ravens need to throw, we may see the passing game pick up more. But it's nothing I'm planning for from a fantasy perspective. However, [Cam Newton] knows that you can't spell "greatness" without a bunch of Ws. So don't be surprised if a little of his flash is supplanted by a trace of wisdom.Again, Will, love the honesty. I feel you're spot on. I think most guys will draft Cam too early expecting a repeat of last year. |

Monkey I think Luck and his TE will probably have more hook ups than T-hill and his texas tech wr exspecially considering he may not even make the team and considering the Colts TE will certainly start. So that would be a dumb bet. But i'll except Luck vs T-hill as far as better seasons to be determined by our MBBRL Board of trustees if the Dolphins are smart enough to start him from day one. You are right I may have contridicted myself on those two points, but I stand by my ball catchers usually struggle comment with the exception of AJ Green.

I don't expect Treff to pop in again until July. That was the case last year.

Wil thanks for bringing up the bets I made with Boomer and treff. Too bad they are not around.

Maybe that is why boomer left so he would not have to write that "The Foot is the football God" on his tag line since that was the stake we made on our bet made before the season of last year. (Thanks Will for reminding me. I gotta say it is a little intimadating that you brought it up even though I won that bet, makes you seem like you are pretty confident it beating The Foot! But then again so was boomer, right?) Wil i say we do somthing like that on our gentleman's swarray. Loser has to proclaim the other as being a fantasy football God after each and every post he makes from the end of the 14th week of this season untill the beginning of the 2013 season. Just to ad to my Flacco prediction. With Suggs out and the once ferce Baltimore Defence weaking and with teams focused intently on stopping Rice first, my Flacco will not only have a break out season but have many oppurtinities to throw. Come from behind.

Foot - I like the January avatar thing better. That way if you want me to have a "Foot is a Fantasy Football God" avatar with multitudes kneeling before a giant foot on a mountain, you can (provided you win). And if I win, you have to sport whatever avatar I come up with.

And there was no specific bet with Treff - just the notion being batted around that whoever came in last in the MBBRL would have to slap on a sign-off at the end of each post for the next season. But he was one of several who stayed silent on that one, so I'm letting it slide.

Ok, Wil you're on but i say we do both. The avitar and the sign off after each post. Double the stakes, that's how confident I am in T-Hill, but T-Hill, Luck and RG3 all have to be starting from the first game or the bet is null, ok?

After Monkey and I both had the same thoughts on the Dolphins RB situation, Foot wrote this about Lamar Miller:
And I love the Rb Lamar Miller that we drafted in the 4th round. miller had a first round grade on himk and if he had stayed in school another year would have campained for the heighsman next year. He will be the RB to draft for fantasy over Bush and all other dolphin rbsAnd since then I've been trying to wrap my head around it and trying to get a handle on the situation. Then I just saw this: And after reading that, it suddenly hit me. Lamar Miller is this year's "CJ Spiller pick" by the Foot. And now the world once again makes complete sense to me and order has been restored. |

Sorry gentlemen. Haven't had the time to preview the Browns for you yet. Been busy with work, the kids, and re-doing the landscaping around my house. Haven't had more than few minutes to just sit down and catch up. Just got switched back to nights, so if I have a slow evening soon, I'll get to work on it. Again, my apologies.
