Totally called this btw. Garza missed his first throw to first yesterday by a good 15ft resulting in a 3 run.

Val, you lucky bitch!

So, it looks like I have to be in Juarez again.  Found out on the 14th and I have just been outta my mind since then.  I been trying to get everything ready, along with work and kids.

Sorry that I haven't been around honey (Broncs, lol) I know you've missed me.

Not to worry Sunshine, I wouldn't miss Broncos week for anything in the world!  Hey don't look now but it seems as if....I'm ahead in the count!

Good Tuesday Morning GB10, I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!!!

I didn't bother to tune into Game1 of the Heat vs Celtics last night because I just didn't think that there was any way that Boston was going to re-energize in time after being taken to the brink of elimination by the 76ers...after a solid first half, it turns out I was correct.  Now Game 2 will determine whether this series is going to be over in 5 games or have a chance to go 7.

Whether or not I would defeat Estle never was really a valid question, but the rest of the top teams in the league all lost this past week...some in surprising manner.  Dave put out another bet that he would beat Austin (hottest team in the league right now) after leading by over 25 points heading into the late game, but Gio Gonzalez and Bryce Harper combined to do more than enough damage to steal the victory and reduce my avi bet with Dave another two weeks...now I'm on my last week and Dave is 3 games back...YEAAAAAA!!!!

This week the Top 4 teams based on record are facing off against each other (I'm matched up against Marty while Val takes on Rick) to determine which two teams are ready to take control of securing their playoff invite as we start to approach the half way point.  I trail Marty by less than 5 points early on and neither of us have more than the minimum 5 SPs this week so our matchup will likely be determined by hitters and RPs...should be a close one, but losing Dustin Pedroia could prove costly to Marty's chances.

I still continue my quest to find another elite 3B or OF to use while Evan Longoria remains on the shelf...if you have interest in trading for a quality SP, let me know...I'm in a dealing mood.

That's a shame.  I will miss it when it's gone.

If Pedroia is out for an extended amount of time that 2B eligibility will come in handy...just not this week.Foot in mouth

Freddy,
I am having a hard time with this trade.  Just can't seem to let go of Adam Jones.  Even though I like Morrow and he just got rocked.

Not sure if Morrow would start for me everyday.

The only reason I sat Morrow this past week was because he was facing the Rangers...to be honest I'm not sure I would start Cliff Lee vs them right now...that offense is just absolutely ridiculous.

That being said, I can't trade for one of your two young OF guys (Mike Trout and Bryce Harper) who are still realtively speaking unproven and give up a SP that is in the Top 30 and if not for that dreadful performance against the best offense in all of MLB would likely be in the Top 10, plus a solid OF in Jay Bruce that is due to start one of his famous hot streaks.

I'm willing to trade multiple pieces, but only for proven elite talent that would start every day.

But your willing to trade me Morrow who is unproven..?

So a SP that has 10 starts this season and has been in the major leagues for the last 3 years making 56 starts in the last two (30 in 2011 and 26 in 2010) not to mention is only 27 years old is unproven?  Wow...what's it going to take for him to earn his stripes in your eyes?

If you want to question whether he is a legitimate Top 30 SP (that would make him a #3 SP on any roster), I guess you can try to make that argument, but aside from one start vs the Rays and one start vs the Rangers, he pitches at least 6 innings and is 6-2 in those 8 starts.  One of his other two losses was vs the Rays as well so maybe you don't start him vs two teams, but barring an injury (completely unpredictable, but he hasn't had any the last two years) I think I would feel pretty comfortable in most other matchups rolling him out there.

Full Disclosure: He is on my bench this week behind Cliff Lee, Jake Peavy, Chris Capuano, Madison Bumgarner, and Ricky Romero

Now compare that to your two young rookie OFs in Bryce Harper and Mike Trout who combined only have 17 more at bats than Adam Jones and likely are just now getting to see SPs the second time around...let's see if they can make adjustments to how they are going to be pitched now that every team has a bit of a scouting report on them.

11-11 with a 4.75 era last year in a division with potent offenses and on a team that won't be around in a few months.

sorry, to me that is unproven.  He's had a good april and may of 2012 though.

Fair enough...I'm not going to throw a whole bunch of stats at you trying to convince you otherwise...like always I'm just trying to understand how each owner evaluates the talent of a specific player.  It helps me to make better offers in the future.

It seems you place a lot of value on prior years performance and that is not unreasonable...just more than I do.

It's a crap shoot really.  You know that.  And with young pitchers, you could go either way.

I like Morrow stuff.  His team?  Not so much..

I was tempted no doubt.  If Morrow was a good team in the NL, it's a no brainer.  But the Sox and Yankees are still finding their stride and that division has some potent offense, like the rest of the AL.

The NL is weaker than the AL this year and I don't think it's even close.
