Smoke and mirrors? I think you mean lining up on the offensive and defensive lines and physically beating the complete dog crap out of their opponents in the trenches. No smoke and mirrors at all. Listen to the analysts that do this for a living who study them. They all say that whether facing a bottom feeding team or a highly ranked AQ team that Boise punches their opponents in the face. They physically beat their foes into submission and it starts at the line of scrimmage. Smoke and mirros. Good one, hater.
And they didn't get embarrassed by a pathetic 5 and 7 Texas Tech Red Raider team at home on homecoming last season and they didn't get the snot beat out of them 44 to 10 by OK State last year either.
When are you going to learn the majority of time Boise is ranked high it's because they have to rank them somewhere so they move up as others lose(attrition).
If you were to ask these same people who do the rankings where they would really put Boise if they were just to rank them. With no other team in the equation because of wins or loses, they would probabaly say 13th thru 25th. And I'm only talking about these last several years that were Boise's best!

The most Spot On accurate statement on this thread.Ummm...Actually, it's not. They do ask these same people to do just that - rank teams without any wins or losses to put in the equation. They are called Pre-Season rankings. In the last several years of which you speak, they have been in the top 10 twice, and the top 5 once.

You know about as much about Football as Martha Stewart and you most likely would play like her too.
Texas Tech would have been Boise State's 3rd best(toughest) team they would have played
This site had Texas Tech ranked as the 62nd best team out of 120 Division 1 teams. So in essence they would have been the 7th best team that Boise played last year behind TCU, Georgia, Toledo, Tulsa, San Diego State, and Arizona State. And they were only 3 spots ahead of Wyoming and 4 ahead of Nevada who lost by 1 point to them in Lubbock in a game they should have won. Get your facts straight before you go posting a bunch of exaggerated, speculative, untrue, nonsense, Moronboise4life
They were ranked 15th at the end of regular season. If you think all those teams were better than Alabama because they were ranked higher your the, what was it you called me? Moron! You might want to check with Michigan ST (co-B1G champion that year) and see what they say about using nothing but rankings as your measuring stick!
Some people have the ability to recognize a team is much better than another even though the other team might be higher ranked. You take a group of experts put them in a room and the majority will say TT would have been the 3rd toughest game for Boise St.

I don't care what that site had Texas Tech ranked they would have been Boise States 3rd toughest team. You're forgetting all the losses they had because of a tougher schedule(attrition). Some people have the ability to recognize a team is much better than another even though the other team might be higher ranked. You take a group of experts put them in a room and the majority will say TT would have been the 3rd toughest game for Boise St. Not going by all that crap I mentioned earlier about a team with a better record being ranked too high too many times JUST because they beat a bunch of nobodys. Your entire list of teams ahead of Texas Tech would be on that list I refer to. Get your facts straight. A few years ago Alabam went 9-3 regular season after winning National Championship in 2009. They were ranked 15th at the end of regular season. If you think all those teams were better than Alabama because they were ranked higher your the, what was it you called me? Moron! You might want to check with Michigan ST (co-B1G champion that year) and see what they say about using nothing but rankings as your measuring stick!
You Boise fans just don't get it!
Spinkiller, you have no clue as to what kind of football player I was, absolutely none. And none of that matters one lick because it's not relevant to this topic of conversation. My business career, my family's background, my wealth, my possessions, my accomplishments in life also have absolutely nothing to do with this topic of conversation. And even if it did nobody wants to hear that stuff so why don't you just go ahead and give it a rest. It's time for you to shut up about it now. It's comes across as desperate, untrue, and downright pathetic. Nobody cares to hear about it, you arrogant, lying, Boise hater.
And let's talk about your Crimson Tide for a moment, the best team in the country by today's standards. In 2009 you finished undefeated and #1 in the land (Boise was the only other undefeated team and finished 4th) - no arguments there. Those rankings were accurate.
Let's fast forward to 2011. Alabama finished with 1 loss (to the #2 ranked team in the country) and #1 in the land. No teams went undefeated last year, but Bama finished ahead of every 1 loss team in the country which they absolutely should have. Boise finished with a loss (to the 13th ranked team) and #6 in the country. Again those rankings were accurate.
Now we'll go back and look at the 2010 season that you referenced. Two teams finished undefeated. Auburn was #1 and national champ as they should have been and TCU was #2 as they should have been under this current format. Boise finished with a loss (to the 13th ranked team) and was #7. Alabama finished 10 and 3 with tough losses to #1 Auburn, #8 LSU, and #22 South Carolina. They finished 11th and also ahead of every three loss team in the nation. The only three loss team that was even close to them was Arkansas at #12 who finished with the same record and played a very similiar strength of schedule. Once again the experts absolutely did get it right.
Don't you guys ever get sick of beating this old dead horse?
