Where exactly do you figure to be in June?
winning the NBA finals.   what you witnessed last year was the start of a dynasty.  you may not know it yet... but it was.

That pretty much sums it up, HOWEVER, we have shown time and time again that we can step it up when needed.

Please explain how winning one of two championships since bringing in the 3 amigos, constitutes showing they can "step it up when needed time and time again".

You're right flauge, I DON'T know it yet!  Nobody does...except apparently you.

I don't think this particular Heat are all that...so much so that I believe we are looking at "One And Done".  Wade is going to break down just when you need him the most.  And, once the Heat fail to consolidate their asterisk, lockout shortened season Championship next summer, or the summer after that, I suspect that will signal the end of the era of the "Three Kings" as LeBron opts out in order to take his talents elsewhere in search of another real ring, and it'll be back to irrelevancy for your Miami Heat.

."..so much so that I believe we are looking at "

How about rehashing what you believed last season?

Also, give us the prognosis as to where your current non playoff Lakers team will end up this season.

See Jefe, you are nothing but an opinionated homer who includes no rhyme or reason or shred of common sense with your posts.

You presch HOPE as you see fit. Nothing more.

" I DON'T know it yet!"

But yet you know the NBA champs who inproved more with this off season will not return to the Finals (gun to head) even though the rest of the East is looking like pretty much garbage (unless you belive in the Knicks).

Rehash your Celtics improvement speech to meagain while you are at it.

speaking of guns and heads, nice job by the Heat to squeek by the Magic in OT. that's the mark of a special team...

but hey, when it comes to bullets and brains Turnip has little to fear. his brain's so small it's a target he's miss 90% of the time...

I think that the Heat could get a couple more titles out of this group. Dynasty? Maybe, but I doubt it. I don't think that Wade's health will hold up. But, if things go right, they could definitely get another title or two!!

The Heat will be a dynasty....of sorts...

I am a Spurs fans.  But, I can see that they just have more talent than anybody else when it comes to defense.

The meaningless regular season is a mirage for teams with hope.   That HEAT defense can be turned on in an instant.

At times they sleepwalk through the season, because they know they can just ramp up the defense and go on a 15-4 run.

I am not a huge fan of them.

But, I understand they are far and away the runaway favorites to repeat this season.

I dont see a single team (including my Spurs or the Clippers) that can beat them when they play defense.

I agree.  Wade is the x-factor.  If he can play close to 100% for a few more years, the Heat could win a few more titles.  I just don't think he will be able to do that.  Another factor will be how the Heat (and other top spending teams) cope with the incremental luxury tax.  For repeat offenders of going over the salary cap, the luxury tax could get really steep.

now that's legit.  things are going to get interesting with salaries in a few years.  whole new NBA playing field coming.

Not that it is unusual for you to make a stupid post, but did you think of this gem for your end of the year special?

Didn't the Lakers bury you on your home court on a night where Dwightmare needed to make a statement as for his reason of leaving?

Just think, if you had that win, you would be over .500 entering 2013.

Seriously, do you even think for even 1 second before you post this nonsense.

THIS is even dumber then your (perceived) pre season power rankings.

Like I noted earlier, you are 'special'.

Depends on one's definition of dynasty, I suppose. I don't think that 2 or 3 championships out of 3 or 4 in a 5 year period, constitutes a dynasty. To me, a dynasty is more like what the Lakers, Celtics and Bulls have done. Has to be over the course of a decade or so. Like the Lakers 9 finals appearances and 5 titles in the 80's or the Bulls 6 titles in the 90's.

Heck, I think the Spurs put together something like 4 titles in about a 10 year period, so that is more of a dynasty than what we are likely to see from the Heat.

just for the sake have argument/discussion... if the Heat win the Championship this season, then when it 2 years from now, would that be considered a Dynasty?  4 Championships in a 10 year period.

Better yet, and for the sake of a more apropos argument, if the Heat were to fail to consolidate their lone asterisk championship of last year with a title this season or next, before Lebron has a chance to opt out of his current deal a year early, and "Yes.We.Did" yields the "Three Kings" with just the one lockout shortened season title before LBJ "takes his talents" elsewhere, will any of you clowns still be Heat fans? Will turnip's season tickets be worth anything? Will Spoelstra go back to being the team's video coordinator? Will the "Heat Haters" club become eligible for inclusion into the Basketball Hall Of Fame in Springfield, Mass.?

I don't think the 06 team will be considered a part of the dynasty. If the Heat happens to win 3 titles with this bunch in a 4-5 yr span, without a doubt they'll be considered a dynasty

One may be able to argue that.  On the Wikipedia article of Sports Dynasty, all the NBA teams that are considered dynasties are listed.  You can click on the references to see who made the arguments.  I would agree with all of them.  The one that is the controvesial is the Spurs 10 years that ended in 2008 because of their lack of back to back championships which all the other NBA dynasties have.  So, they would have to pull off a back to back in the next few years.  I would say it has to be this year because it gets harder with Wade

The NHL actually has a list of official dynasties, so they don't the fun of the debating.  I found an article titleled, What Defines a Sports Dynasty and it mentions a few of the NBA teams below.  But the article was really about hockey and how the Black Hawk were being considered as the next dynasty until the salary cap came along in 2010 and crushed that.    So, will the same thing be true for the Heat with the new salary cap in the NBA?  We will see.
