TIGER WOODS LOYAL FANS ONLY POST

May 7, 2012 11:30 am

Noko,

Correction - he isn't chosen and never was and never will be by popular or unpopular vote. Neither did he drop from Heaven too. The only CHOSEN ONE is my Savior and Lord, who graced the Cross on Calvary.

Tiger was made from raw youth....from the age of three appearing in Ed Sullivan's show [remember] , from young, through his own passion, and training by his pa and guidance along the way, with great teachers from Butch to Hank to Sean [oops] and sheer talent......and since he arrived as champ and remained there a good decade, he has inspired thousands including me, to pick up the sport.

More than that,  there has been dozens if not hundreds of young boys and girls, groomed by their dads, local coaches, and national programmes into little champions themselves......and some will be playing alongside him this week.....the likes of Rory, Ricky, Ryo who grew up inspired by Tiger.

That's Tiger and how great he is!

Imagine, Muhammad Ali or Joe Frazier or Floyd Patterson inspiring Floyd Mayweather, Manny and others into the boxing ring, and still around to fight the young ones.....or Schumacher racing with some of his young fans.

That's Tiger.....the champ they could not beat in his peak, but now slowly and cautiously being beat by them....but he [the champ] will be back.....not easy though in top professional golf, as all his peers are struggling....Vijay, Chris DiMarco, Rory Sab, Rocco Mediate, Ernie [almost did it], even Phil.

[This post is not meant to give my good friend NOKO a knock out punch....just a tickle, on his big belly, and perhaps stir in him a genuine admiration for one of,  if not the greatest golfer of all times.]

Name another player in history that has woin 10 times more than missed cuts.   Oh-  That's right.  It's UNPRECEDENTED.  Tiger missed just his SEVENTH cut of his career.  What an AMAZING and ASTOUNDING statistic.  In fact, Tiger has made 97% of the cuts on the PGA Tour in his career.  Jack Nicklaus missed 85 cuts in his PGA career - Tom Watson missed over 100 cuts.

Tiger has won 26% of the events he has played in.  Mickelson is 2nd in winning per-centage at 9%.  Mickelson has missed TEN TIMES AS MANY CUTS as Tiger Woods -

Simply put, Eldrick Tont is the greatest player to have ever played the game.  Morals and ethics not withstanding -

Tim, You say Tiger is NOT  " The Chosen One???"  No ones told him that!

Tim, I have admired this golf. At his best it was a beauty to behold. That is where the admiration stopped.

In every other aspect he is more deserving of contempt rather than respest.

Vahawk,

Wow!! I never saw it that way! 97% cuts vs Jack's 85%! Winning 26% as compared to Phil's 9%.

How much more info and statistics do people need before they bow down [not to worship, but admit they are wrong!] to the fact that Tiger is the best, and guess what? If there is a No 1 fan of Tiger Woods....you guessed it, it would be none other than the Golden Bear himself, and I hope he lives to see that 18 Major record broken!

Jack himself will declare, "Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of all times!", before he rests and sleeps in peace!

He will not be like Pele, who says, "There will never be another Pele", implying that he is the greatest ever, ever.

Noko,

Smile great we are in agreement about Tiger's performance and great golfing!

Nevermind about his flaws and weaknesses....we shouldn't throw stones at him. Of course, if he asks for my advice or yours, we can both tell him to be a "good boy", and that's fine with me.

It's a long walk in life towards perfection in anything, and we just admire his near perfection in golf.

As for his weakness with women and his little member, tell me one strong man who is not `weak' down there, and I will find you a thousand who are. [catch the pun?]

As for character, personality, behavior - human nature being such, only the parents, teachers, peers and ALMIGHTY can mold us, but many are unmouldable after 18 or less. Also, when he is `that big' or `that huge', who can tell or teach him?

Who can tell Michael Jordan, or Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson or you or me, when we are past our puberty? So, let's focus on his golf.

His story hasn't ended yet! How do we know? Because missing a cut is big deal for Tiger, even now.

Noko,

Interesting perspective and perception from an entrepreneur of kilts!

Let me see and give you a knee-jerk reply, possibly not-so-learned or researched...It's perfectly okay to differ in opinion.

1. Wrath?........if you refer to anger management problems, one club thrown and retrived in a dozen years is not bad!

2. Pride?.........for a billionaire to say "Sorry to everyone" is humility, I thought.  I thought Steve Williams was arrogant.

3. Greed? ......certainly not for money. I think it's more goals and targets he's after. He's got enough fame, name and game, apart from money.

4. Lust?......I don't think so. It's more bad choice, considering he chose hookers. He didn't romp around wildly. Yes, he broke the marital vow like so many millions of others. The whole internet thrives on that, not that we should support `lust', but it is a biological must and trust, enthrusted on mankind, within matrimonial limits, that he exceeded.

5. Sloth?........my goodness, every pro out there works hard and works their butt out. It is we who are sloths in comparison, golf-wise.

6. Envy?.......goodness me, when your cupboard is full of trophies? I would say admire rather than envy Jack. Jack was his idol in his youth.

7. Gluttony? ......Have you got Tiger mixed up with John Daly or Carl Peterson or Maradona?

Friend, anyway, I think we are on the wrong frequency.......my own seven sins are:

1. Idolatry.......bowing down to $$, other `Gods'
2. Disbelief......in the Almighty
3. Stubbornness......or unrepentent...despite being wrong before His EYES
4. Pride as in Self Elevation and putting oneself first above all
5. Selfishness....no consideration or compassion for others
6. Disobedience to authority....and the BIG ONE
7. Immorality......

Anyway, we are all mortal and weak and so, let's not point fingers at others but at our ownselves.....and focus on golf and those great moments in golf, like Ricky's wedge on the 18th at Wells Fargo

Conclusion.....Woods has learned a painful lesson that `image' is important as much as great golfing. He can be forgiven.

Tiger was great at golf for a stretch. Only because he hit the ball further than anyone else. Not anymore though, not to mention his battles with his swing ( Driver ) etc. His head is so screwed up right now, and HASD BEEN for a while now, but he was never great at being a person. When I watch Tiger it was always like watching a spoiled teenager, and still to this day even after he said he would tone his temper down and have more respect for the game.. Tiger could learn a lot from the 2 young 23 year old's on tour ( Rory and Fowler) If he looks up one word it should be class.

And to the thread creator. Tiger is half black, half Asian. Also, if you wanna get good at golf, watch Rory Mcllroy and the best swing , and player in golf.

LOL at only having thrown 1 club in 12 years. ( On camera anyways ) Not to mention the 2-3 times per round on camera where he does'nt let the club go, he just drives the club face in the ground in pure frustration. For  all the bad shots he makes you would think when a bad shot happens , he is'nt as surprised. Tiger, you are man and we all make mistakes, especially on the golf course.

Jack Nichlaus said it again: “I don't know. I've said it many times, I think he has a lot of desire, and I think desire his whole life has been built around breaking my record, and I still think that his chances are very good of it and he probably will. But if I said anything else you guys would write headlines.”

And heir-apparent Rory McIlroy said this:

"I think the first time I met Tiger I was a little star struck,” said McIlroy, who admitted the meeting happened in Scotty Cameron's studio when Rory was 15 years old. “I watched him on TV winning majors by 15 and 12 and doing things that no one else could.”

“It's funny, I was talking about this last night,” he said. “I was more nervous meeting Tiger than I was meeting Barack Obama.”

Actually Jack missed 85 CUTS.  Tiger has missed 7.  Tiger has won 26% of his starts.  That's astounding.  He had a million straight cuts made and abliterated that record.  He won seven straight PGA events, the best since Lord Byron's 11 in '45 against weak fields.  He held all four majors at once.  US Open by 15.  Master's by 12.  The Open by 8.  AT one point, Tiger held are shared the scoring recoed AND margin of victory record at all four majors.  In 2010, one year AFTER the scandat, Tiger Woods lost MAJOR endorsements and STILL was the highest paid athlete in the world.

HE won SIX straight USGA events, a record that will NEVER never be repeated.  He was the youngest to win the Masters, and the youngest to ever achieve the career Grand Slam.   SImply put, Tiger si by FAR and away the greatest tp ever play the game -
