Also, some of those folks were claiming that I and Armyman 16 are one and the same.  It's not true.  He's his own seperate guy.  But I find if you make denials, they (those who would hope to make us question our faith and lead us astray) twist it around to say it is proof of their charges.

Anyway, Sorry, Armyman 16, if you get hounded. I guess they don't know that Believers would tend to have similar positions on things.

Dear Lord,

Please be with our dear friend Sissy, her mother and the doctors that are treating her mother making sure that all get or provide the very best medical care that is possible and bring peace and comfort into their lives.  Give Sissy the strength, resolve and endurance that she needs to care for her mother but equally as important herself.  Fill our friend with love and let her know that our thoughts and prayers are with her and that at point is she is ever alone because you are there with her and army of your devoted followers are next in line.

We give praise that the visit with her sister was such a positive experience and we pray that some how some way your glorious spirit will find its way into the sister heart.  Lord let her see how wonderful you are and lift the burden of walking through life alone with out you from her.

We also give praise for the new posters that have shown up on the thread and rejoice in how you are using the thread as a tool in your plan.   Thank you for giving us life, salvation and love and help us to spread your message wherever we go.

Amen

"When the Son of man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"
Luke 18:8

Faith is the one prime condition by which God works and is the one prime condition by which man prays.

Dear God, I pray You will increase my faith in Your ability to accomplish anything. What is impossible for man is possible with You.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Lvillesooner, what a great observation!  I was immediately recalling last week's solar eclipse (only visible to very southwestern states but some great shots from Japan on the internet, Google "ring of fire eclipse" to see).  God does amazing works in the heavens and on earth and in us daily--even minute by minute!  Thank you for calling our attention back to the beauty around us; we must learn to see that as well as see our daily trials.  With remembrance of the beauty--big and small--we are reminded that we are not alone to deal with the difficulties and praise remains on our lips for our God and Father in heaven!

Senor, good to see you!  I pray things are settling down for you.  Don't sweat the small stuff!  God is bigger than all so keep your mind set upon Him!

WT, thanks for the prayers!  Mom is much calmer today and we will await the appointment later this month with the cardiovascular doctor to plan where we go next.  God will determine what is truly needed (who schedules a "surprise" surgery? lol  Isn't that reserved for birthday parties?)

Please everyone remember that Friday at noon is the Stand Up for Religious Freedom event--see if you can find one near you and attend if possible.  If you can't attend, please say a prayer for our country and our leaders and our churches at noon Friday to join the chorus of prayer!

Be God's!

I haven't been accused of anything like that so far. I have been accused of being an idiot, behind the times, using my faith as a crutch, stupid because I don't buy into any non-Creator theories, uneducated fool.

Oh well. They said the same things about Christ and everybody who has ever loyally followed Him. So I am in pretty good company!

For the last few years, some of us have been called all kinds of things over on the Theology Thread for doing apologetics, and maintaining their is an Almighty, Omnipresent, Omniscient God, and that He is Sovereign and exist eternally in three persons.  We are really hooted at for insisting that the Word of God is infallible as delivered in its original language, and that it is the authoritative guide for salvation, faith, and holy living.  They get really nasty when we further contend that there are historical and factual reasons to believe, and that one doesn't have to be a moron to be a believer.  They turn positively apoplectic when we warn that Jesus will return to resurrect His children and judge the unbelieving dead as well.

Oh well, can you imagine their shock when they realize He'll have the last word- when they see Him face to face? Actually, it makes me pity their stubborn unbelief rather than get angry.  In fact, it moves me to prayer.

Heavenly Father, have mercy on the willful, prideful, and unbelieving.   We were once as they were, but by Your great mercy, You snatched us from the flames and made us alive in Christ.  Send your spirit, we pray, that they may be spared on the aweful, awesome Day of the Lord.  May they repent, believe, and be washed in the Blood of the Lamb.  We ask in the Precious Name of Jesus.  Amen.

Good morning and God's peace to you all!

Lvillesooner, that's my fav verse/song!  Great is His faithfulness!!

Our sister Anita is having major surgery on Friday.  She's had a mesh implant in her bladder wall and it must be repaired.  There is a risk of puncturing the bladder.  Please keep her in prayer, and I'll let you know how she makes out when I hear from her.  If things go well, she'll be home Friday night; if not, she'll be in the hospital a few days.  May our Father bring her peace and give wisdom to the healthcare workers to guide their hands accurately.  Let His Hand bring her the healing touch she needs, in Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

Father, we ask that you bless cousin Anita.  Touch her with Your healing hand and comfort her spirit.  Touch the doctors to be sensitive and compassionate, as well as effective.  We are a needy people, and You are our Shepherd.  Lead us to cool grass, clear cold water, and refreshing breezes of the Spirit.  May we rest in You and You alone.  We pray in the Blessed Name, Jesus.  Amen

Prayers

June 7, 2012 10:48 am

Last night I took a few minutes just to myself to think and reflect and pretty quickly into that process this Thread came to my thoughts and what a wonderful group of people and what an awesome tool for God all of this is.  It is incredible to me that 24/7 if I have a problem or issue and need prayer I am a couple of keystrokes away from a group of people who will take that request and put it to prayer right away without a second thought.

WOW just WOW!  I felt like being in a Sunday School class and having that support when crisis happen was really cool but I never imagined I would have a special forces prayer group available to me round the clock!  It is truly humbling to me that I have been able to form such a powerful bond with group of people that I have never met but share a so very meaningful, important and powerful need in our lives...prayer.

I thank God for each and everyone one of you this Thread has been a positive in my life and my interaction with all of you has and will continue to make me a better person overall.  You guys are so full of the spirit I can feel it hundreds maybe enven thousands of miles away.  It doesn't matter because God's love and his spirit have no boundries and all of you are such a wonderful gateway to that love.  As Christians we focus so much on witnessing to unbelievers and spreading the gospel that sometimes we forget that we need to witness and spread the word to each other as well so that we all can grow in our walk with Christ togather. Please know that I read, hear and feel your witness everyday and I am hearing the gospel through each one of you and because of it I am growing as a christian.

Thank you brothers and sisters for taking time out of your day to come to this thread with love in your heart and the spirit of God in your written word.  Thank you for loving me enough to take my prayer requests and lift them to the lord without hesitation and without judgment.  Thank you you for being such wonderful examples of what it means to be a christian and for walking with me and helping me on the path of righteousness.

Lord bless these servants of yours watch over them and hear their prayers that we lift up to you.  We love you lord with all our mind, body and soul and praise your name.  Thank you Lord for this thread and may you continue to use it as tool in your plan.

Amen

Amen WT.  We take refuge in the Lord and take comfort in knowing that we also have brothers & sisters in Christ that we can turn to.

Yes, I may be a believer, experiencing God's grace, taking comfort in knowing that I have a Savior - - but I'm still a sinner - and I grow just as weary, and I struggle just same as anyone.

Some of my most satisfying moments come when I pray for others - and seldom do I ask for prayer at our church...but I want to ask all of you to remember me & a situation with my 12 YO daughter.

I have raised her in a loving home and have taken her to Sunday School since she was 2.  She knows the Lord - and accepted Christ as her savoir - - I have done everything I know how to be a minister & good shepherd to her...but today's popular culture, music, tv & social networking...is undermining everything I do.  I'm worried sick over this and I keep in constant prayer with the Lord and lift it all up to Him.

Please pray not only for me & my daughter, but for our all our youth - that the Holy Sprilt would dwell in their hearts and lead them.

Thank you & may God add His blessing to you today.

June 7, 2012 1:39 pm

WT and Lvillesooner, great posts from both of you this morning.  It is so right that we not forget to minister to one another or to think one of us is stronger or better than another.  We are all sinners saved by grace and we all need a Savior and time in God's word and time in fellowship and prayer and praise with our brothers and sisters.  God bless all who come here in peace and may He make His blessings fall upon us all.

LS, I understand the temptations that our youth face in trying to live like Christians while the world calls them away constantly and through so many media.  Live your walk with Christ before her and give her the guidance and discipline a parent is directed to, and know we will all keep her in prayer.  The teen years make those "terrible twos" look like a piece of cake!  May our Lord's hand be ever upon her to speak to her heart and to convict her if she strays into temptation.  God is the author and finisher of our faith and HE will accomplish the work in us.  May He also speak His peace and guidance to you as you raise her up to be a woman of God.

May God make His face to shine upon all here today and always,

Amen, brothers and sisters.  You know, we have been schooled in evangelism to "say the right things" and to be ready to "give an answer for the faith that is in you", so we seem to get the idea it's about talk, talk, talk- when it's really about walk, walk, walk.  I think more people are won over by a loving godly act of kindness and a gentle spirit than a powerful persuasive argument.  To be sure, we need to know the Word and base our lives and guard our thoughts with/on it, but true knowledge is what we put into motion.  If those outside the Body of Christ see a loving and caring fellowship that truly ministers to one another, they will want to be a part of that.  It will convict them of their need- sin and a lack of real love.

This was impressed on me by one of my Nepali students- who immigrated legally from a refugee camp last year.  I have been teaching her English, helping her acculturate, and adjust to America.  My partner who works with Lutheran Family Services and I have witnessed to the kids (ages 15-20) when appropriate and legal in the public school setting (we can share, but only when they initiate the conversation and not during class time).  Hema told me that they go to services (they are invited to by Christian social workers) as well as the Hindu events that the Lutheran Family Services coordinates for them.  I asked her what she thought about the Christian services, and she replied that she liked the Christian services better- because the Christians loved them and cared for them and never had any idea of getting something in return.  This impressed her more than all the words and arguments.

...but I want to ask all of you to remember me & a situation with my 12 YO daughter.
Lvillesooner,

I have a 13 year old daughter so I know exactly what you are talking about once they hit Middle School that social calendar cranks up, their expectations crank up but their attention span to what their parents have to say is at an all time low.  With my daughter I now have two scheduled BIG talks with her a year one before school starts and one before they come back from Christmas break.  These talks deal with the 3 things I fear the most Alcohol, Drugs and Sex and we have a real, hard and honest conversation about each of them.  During the year I look for stories that I can bring to the conversation to help "emphasis points" but it is getting harder to do that because most of the media does glorify bad behavior and society seems to excuse it.

But in all honesty the best we can do is dedicated our children to God, raise them in the church with Christian values and be honest with them educating them on the tribulations they will face.  It is an ongoing stuggle and I will keep you and your entire family in my prayers.

Greg,

she liked the Christian services better- because the Christians loved them and cared for them and never had any idea of getting something in return
If she only knew how much we get out of the service to our Lord and his children!  One of the greatest things about this thread is I get at least 100 times more out of it than I could ever put in.  That is just a testiment to the loving caring people fo the the thread who graciously give of themselves and are completely unselfish when spreading the spirit of the Lord around them.

Love in Christ...WT

This thread is such a blessing.  Only our God could keep this going and bringing more people... just more evidence of His faithfulness to us - His children!  Thank you all for being vessels.

A wonderful reminder in the devotional I'm reading today:  Heaven isn't prepared for good people and hell for bad people, and we don't have to worry about whether or not we have done enough good in our Father's eyes to get to heaven.  We know the only Way to heaven is through the Son of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Comforting doesn't even begin to describe the feeling it gives us, knowing that as imperfect as we are, the Lord's precious blood covers all of our combined sins... along with everyone else who chooses Him.  I often think about what Jesus did for us on the cross and what we've read about that day in our Bibles, and the fact that He did it knowing that there would be those who reject salvation.  There is no way we could fathom having that kind of love for all of humanity, unconditional.

Thank You Lord Jesus for dying and rising for us.  Thank You Father for sending Your Son for us.  Thank You for the most important decision that we've made to accept You, Dear Lord.  Please help us to live as Christ-like as we can everyday, and for others to see Your love in us, so if they don't know You that they will turn their hears over to You, and if they do that they may grow closer to You.  Thank you for my precious family in Christ on this thread.  I ask that You please bless them and their loved ones daily, according to Your perfect will, to provide for their needs.  Please help us to always keep You our First Priority, and we know everything else will fall in line.  I ask this in Jesus Precious Holy Name, amen.

May God continue to bless us richly and may we bless Him!
