Detroit Redwings Stanley Cup Champions Future

After many years of underachieving, the Wings finally win another cup. I was really getting tired of the wings outplaying their opponent, and then getting kicked out of the playoffs. I have to say, this is one of the best teams of watched in a while and have a good future ahead of them. I could definatly see them hoisting the cup around this time next year. Even if they dont win it next year, this team will be lifting the cup again, its only a matter of time.

One of the many reasons I can see a back to back championships is the fact that this team will look identical for years to come. The only differances we may see in the next few years is Cheli retiring, and there is a question if Stuart coming back but I'm not to worried about that. Lidstrom has another 2 years on his contract however his resigning isnt even a question.

When Listrom retires, the wings may have to rebuild. However I am not worried about him retireing anytime soon. Right now he is one of the best defensman to ever play the game, and should only retire if he belives he cant help his team (or just doesnt want to play) However in two years he may not be in his prime (one of the best all time) , but he will still one of the best defensemen in the league, which gives him more of a reason not to retire. When he does retire however, he will be on the first ballet in to the HOF and number 5 will be hanging from the rafters.

The rest of our guys will be here for many years to come.

Here to many more cups in the future,
