USC: Post-Season Ban/Punishment Not Entirely Fair

In response to USC's punishment, I would have to disagree to an extent. I agree vacating some of their past Wins may be fair and maybe reducing their scholarships also... However, the impact of banning USC from post season play isn't entirely just. What the ban is doing, is also punishing/affecting the current student athletes. I would be furious to know that my college football career potential has suddenly become limited for circumstances I had nothing to do with. A major championship game is what every kid dreams of when they get to the college football level. The majority of the players weren't even enrolled at USC when the violation occurred, nor were they even involved.
Look at all of the great players to get drafted to the NFL in recent years. Most of them had some Bowl game experience to be proud of and reminisce about. These athletes are just kids/young men. Don't punish them, instead, punish the school by reducing/garnishing some of their winnings of their future few Bowl games.

Boise State to the Mountain West

It only says they'll get an invite, but its pretty much a done deal as far as most fans are concerned. Too bad BSU won't be playing a MWC in-conference schedule this season already...

Boise State Basketball

Just curious if anyone has any direct involvement with or inside knowledge of Bronco Basketball? I read Senior Zach Moritzs' "Inside The Paint" article. It sounds as if the coaching staff changes have made an impact, but to what degree? I am wondering if it will bring any significant improvement for this next season. It's a bit difficult to have such an outstanding all-around athletic program, with the exception of struggling in the one sport. If Boise State has any genuine interest in expanding to a bigger conference, it would help to have a basketball team that is at least a respectable competitor.
I haven't had any desire to follow the basketball team, however, if this change in coaching staff is going to bring anything to the table, I will be anxious to see what happens. Any input is appreciated!

Boise State PreSeason Rank #2!

So what this means, is having a shot at the National Championship is theirs to lose!  As long as BSU wins through the entire season, one loss for Alabama should make Boise State #1. The Broncos are living the dream and up to this point, have made everything a reality. The true Boise State fans are so excited and can't wait for the day the Broncos win the National Title. 2010 could be the year!
Go Broncos!!!

WAC Expansion!

Let's say the WAC expands, instead of waiting around for another conference to jump first. The WAC would lose some financial and strength credibility if Boise State left, right? Currently there are only 9 teams. Who do you think could be added to the WAC to, not only make it bigger, but better? There are good teams out there, that are in Divisions lower than the WAC. The WAC should find 3 teams to bring on board. There may be other possibilities in Div 1-A as well...
In my opinion, these teams below, may actually strengthen the WAC and bring more interesting competition... They all play a game or two against Div 1-A opponents each year.

These 3 teams would be great additions. The numbers preceding the teams are their FCS rankings for 2009.

  1. #1 Villanova Wildcats? (In Kansas) (Hell... We go all the way to Louisiana Tech, New Mexico, and Arizona for games right?)
  2. #2 Montana Grizzlies? (short drive)
  3. #13 Eastern Washington Eagles? (also a short drive)
