More Cardinal miracles, and on to Game 7

ST. LOUIS -- At this point, how would you ever think the Cardinals can lose?

Seriously, what would convince you? Down 10 runs with one out to go?

They were done in the regular season, they seemed done a few times in the playoffs and they sure seemed done in Game 6 of the World Series on Thursday night.

In the ninth inning. In the 10th inning.

If needed, they no doubt would have gone to the 100th inning, and they still wouldn't have lost.

They're not done. They're still not done.

They won Game 6 in the 11th inning on hometown kid David Freese's home run, and now we're off to Game 7 on Friday.

How did it happen? I'm sure I'm missing something, but here goes:

Down to their last strike in the ninth, the Cardinals got a two-run game-tying triple from Freese, off Rangers closer Neftali Feliz. Then, after Josh Hamilton's 10th-inning home run put the Rangers on the verge again, the Cardinals were down to their last strike again -- before Lance Berkman's single tied it again.

Incredible.

The ninth-inning rally began with an Albert Pujols double, his first hit since his historic three-homer Game 3. It was yet another in a series of possible Pujols final at-bats as a Cardinal in Busch Stadium, but it began the rally that helped ensure he'll play at least one more game.

And why not?

It's been a fantastic World Series. Thursday's game wasn't always pretty, with five errors, but it sure was exciting.

And now there will be a Game 7.

More Cardinal miracles, and on to Game 7

Sportswriters are opportunists...scavengers....they may prefer to be predators, but hey, roadkill is easier than stalking a story, right ? Journalism is tough...sensationalism is easier.

All else equal, writers will USUALLY seek to bandwagon on the biggest market team. We all know what they are, they're just looking for the most bang for the buck. There is strength in numbers, and bigger market means more fans that will like a nice kiss-azz story on their team. When they can't get one, they try to create something...pick a scab, open a wound, or kick them while they're down.

...besides, the real "miracles" of game 6 were, in no particular order:

The ability to skip Kyle Loshe's start altogether and blame it on a "probable" act of God (rain) on Wednesday might have been the biggest advantage possible.

Josh Hamilton's pre-homer message from the God of Inconsequential Homers that he was going to be allowed to hit one again, but it wouldn't matter.

That EITHER team that defended and pitched as badly as these teams did, could actually WIN a World Series game.

What goes around come around...someone's going to run out of "miracles"...because the other team will reduce a few mistakes, and THAT is the team that will win game 7.

More Cardinal miracles, and on to Game 7

Knobler is finally starting to get away from his arrogant ways and actually seeing the Cardinals for who they are and not being a biased pig towards them.

The Cardinals were never as easy as you make them out to be Knobler why such a kiss ass now? Go screw yourself and let us celebrate without your two sense.

Go consipire on why the rain didn't give the edge to the Rangers, on why everything you've predicted so far has come to be a fail for your part.

Game 7 facts - The Rangers can't come into game 7 too confident after their "All-Star Reliever" Ogando blew it, after their "All-Star Closer" came in and blew it, the only positive that you all have to work with tomorrow night is the fact that you haven't been beaten two games in a row in two months.

The Cardinals will have all the confidence they need tomorrow now in Loshe or Carpenter Starting with the other on backup if needed This will not be easy for either team but no matter what it was a pleasure to play such an entertaining series against a great team, and good luck Rangers and Rangers fans.

11 in '11 GO CARDS!
