Yankees focused on middle relief

When the Yankees inquired about Roy Halladay, they were reportedly told he would cost them more because the Blue Jays don't want to trade him within the American League East.

It turns out the Yanks could have similar obstacles in making smaller trades, too.

According to a source familiar with their plans, the Yankees have focused mostly on adding to the middle of their bullpen. That figures, particularly after Alfredo Aceves told reporters Tuesday that his right shoulder has been bothering him. Aceves has been a big part of the pre-Mariano Rivera part of the Yankees bullpen, along with Phil Hughes and (recently) Brian Bruney.

The problem for the Yankees is that the most available relievers pitch for the Blue Jays (Scott Downs, Jason Frasor) and the Orioles (George Sherrill, Danys Baez).

"Neither of those teams wants to do any favors for the Yankees," the source said.

The Yankees have also shown some interest in Josh Anderson, the speedy outfielder who was designated for assignment by the Tigers last week. The teams don't appear to be close to a trade, however.

The Yankees need to go for it with Halladay. Trade the young arm and get one of the best and proven pictures in the AL. Look what Phillys doing and even the Cards. With Wang out and Andy almost out go get Halladay. CC, AJ, Halladay what more would you need?

What do you guys think about Bruney? How much more patience will the Yanks have with him?
Robertson doesn't look big-game ready either!
